BellamyBellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on February 19 1970, ([1]) was an American actor, producer and performer best recognized for her role as Melody "Mellie", Grant the character in ABC's drama Scandal (2012)-2018. In 2014, the Critics' Choice Television awarded her the best Supporting Actress award in a Drama Series. In 2019, she appeared in the role of Prodigal Son on Fox. Young began her career as an actor at the theatre. She made her Broadway debut in the year 1997 as Mary in The Life's initial ensemble. The Off-Broadway roles include Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Rock Along (1994) as well as Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). In 1995, she made her TV debut on a recurring character in the NBC daytime soap the show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. She appeared in two parts in the show Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. In 1999 , she made her film debut by playing a small role in the crime thriller Black and White and later co-starred in several independent films. Beginning in 2000, she was spotted in guest-starring in a variety of television dramas and comedies, such as The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. From 2000 until 2011, Young was a regular guest on more than 30 appearances in television shows.
