Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a mixed race British-Nigerian child, was born to the family of South London. Her mother is English while her father is Nigerian. She was raised on a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age fourteen. She went to an academy called the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned an acting BA. She appeared on stage in several productions as a student including the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. In the years since, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe's breakout came with 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was co-starring Colin Farrell (who played the role of Cassandra) and Ewan McGrath. Following that success she was cast as Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx as well as Flipside in the role of Ollie. In 2008 she landed Bambi's part on the ITV2 Drama Series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The actress was on two series, 2 and 3. Madekwe starred in the 2008 comedy film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. Some of her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe made her official US debut in the 2009 Drama series The Beautiful Life, which was only broadcast on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge from February 2011. In May of 2013, it was revealed that Madekwe, who appeared on the show as a series regular for the two previous seasons, was to leave the series with a guest appearance on the premier episode of the new season. In the TV series Salem the actress played Tituba in 2014 through 2016. Madekwe and her boyfriend for many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he was also on the show with Madekwe in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress who was raised in a big family. Her parents were Roy and Patty Leggat. Her parents were Roy and Patty and four older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's brothers, who are all athletes, play baseball during the summer and played hockey in winters. Ashley did not have the ability to actually walk. She would dance. When she reached 2 and a 1/2, she joined Baby Ballet. This was the beginning of Ashley's interest in dance. Ashley competed in top-level divisions for jazz, tap hip-hop, ballet lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics as well as pointe until the time she completed from high school. She won the top soloist at each of the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
